Established in 1998, COVR’s Visionary Award for Fiction was the first prize to honor excellence in the emerging literary genre of visionary fiction. This new genre is developing widespread appeal among "cultural creatives", some 500 million adults who comprise the fastest growing demographic group in America today — typically this is a group which has grown out of the social movements of the Sixties and includes consciousness movements in spirituality, psychology and alternative health. The COVR awards — which go to books, music and various New Age retail products — have been referred to in the media as "fast becoming the Academy Awards Show of the New Age Industry". INATS West, now in its 8th year, is the premier market in the United States specifically designed to meet the needs of retailers featuring New Age and related products. This comprehensive trade show features hundreds of international exhibitors, workshops, seminars and authors and performers filling a main stage and two buyer’s lounges for three days annually. Miller Allen is no stranger to such honors. She won the New Mexico Press Women’s ZIA Best Book award in 1993 for her fiction collection Hunger in the First Person Singular. This is also not the first time her new distribution company, Green Phoenix Productions, has received recognition: earlier this year the company’s first CD, "Inconstant Bard" by Rick Allen & The Constant Cohorts was a finalist in the New Mexico Music Industry Awards New Age Category. Journey From the Keep of Bones is a visionary reincarnation novel of love and spirit, in which ancient Mesoamerican jaguar priests are reincarnated as the opposite sex in contemporary New Mexico. Set against a background of self-help pop psychology and spiritual healing, this serious-yet-playful tale offers a hopeful message for our times. Miller Allen’s novel is available at Barnes & Noble, Winrock; at The Mystic Bear, 2205 Silver Ave SE, Albuquerque, N.M.; in Jemez Springs at The Jemez Mountain Trading Company and The White Barn. Books may also be ordered from any bookstore, or ordered directly from the publisher at (505) 877-4395 www.amadorbooks.com, or from the Green Phoenix Productions website. New Leaf Distribution Company (www.newleaf-dist.com) is also carrying the book. Call toll-free at 1-800-326-2665. NOTE: Author is available for media interviews and book signing.
