Green Phoenix Joins Hands with Amador Publishers
2007 marks a significant development for GPP. As we have intended from the start, in addition to producing Rick Allen's poetry CD "Inconstant Bard" and our line of Synchronicity ritual scarves and vestments and other artful/healing products, we are now a book publisher!
Green Phoenix Productions, An Imprint of Amador Publishers, LLC presents its first literary offering: LAST OF THE NICE GIRLS: How a Nice Girl from the British Empire Ends Up a Witch in the New Mexico Desert (Edited by Michelle Miller Allen), a posthumous memoir, the life's work of late dear friend and writing peer, Elizabeth McBride.
Pre-publication orders are being taken now. Books will be available as of June 2007. Click here for advance Early Bird ordering!
Important Things to Tell Other Women . . .
Elizabeth McBride (1933-2004) spent the last part of her life in New Mexico involved in spiritually-based and writerly pursuits — and the decade previous, involved in political activism in Latin America. This elegant and feisty Scottish woman of the British Empire was born in Hong Kong, and lived a very international life as a writer and adventurer. Fortunately for us, she kept intimate and intricate diaries her whole life. From these she culled her memoir, which spans from her girlhood days in the 1940s to the last few weeks before her death on February 6, 2004.
During her final year, knowing that she was dying, Elizabeth spoke to Michelle Miller Allen often about her increasingly urgent feeling that she must talk to other women, that she had important things to tell them about living their life as free women with choices. As her time and energy were diminishing by then, Miller Allen assured her that finishing this book would be the way she could do that.
With Green Phoenix Productions' dual existence now in New Mexico and Central Scotland, it is appropriate that our first publication should be Elizabeth McBride's book, as it joins the hands of these two cultures of her origin and her final days in an elegant way.
A Note From Amador Publishers, LLC . . .
Amador Publishers, LLC has joined forces with Green Phoenix Productions to bring to the public LAST OF THE NICE GIRLS, the posthumous memoir of Elizabeth McBride. The author's quest for self-knowledge, coupled with her intense interest in and deep respect for all the cultures she encountered in the course of her widely-traveled life, have secured her place in the Amador fold. We feel we know her, and want our readers to know her too. Her story has the appeal of romance and far-flung adventure, but works on a deeper level as well. It has been the source of much discussion among ourselves and all those who worked on the project — we hope LAST OF THE NICE GIRLS will be read widely so we can keep talking about it! Congratulations to editor Michelle Miller Allen for completing the enormous task entrusted to her with integrity and style. We are proud to be part of her team.

Investors Invited
From time to time we have offers to invest, from supporters of what we are trying to do at Green Phoenix Productions. A little here, a little there. We gratefully accept such offers, which so far have been informal and based on a belief by these people that "GPP will do great things!" If you are interested in talking to us about this, please contact Michelle Miller Allen at spiritbear1@btinternet.com. It can take a few years for a little business like ours to get on its feet and become self-sustaining, so we're happy for any help we get. We are gradually producing more, distributing more, and taking on the work of more artists, writers and musicians whose work speaks to us.
We are also into barter, open to suggestions. And, of course, the BEST way you can help us keep going is . . . go to the GPP Products egg and ORDER SOMETHING!
